I drink your milkshake! a metaphor for capitalism

one thing that really interests me about capitalism is whats the most an employer would pay their employee? and by this i dont mean what you agree to with your employer. with big data the employers must know how much the employee is worth per hour and therefore they must know the most they can pay them.

for example, my current employer will pay us time and a half first four hours and then double time next four hours worked on a stat holiday. but we are not allowed to do overtime on a stat im guessing because its no longer profitable for the employer at that point.

never heard that theory before. and of course i have my doubts about it

you've never heard that nor met someone who has no money but does have the latest cell phone?

you might want to come out into the real world and meet real people before you preach to us on societies woes?

no matter how you cut it, incomes are down from their peak in 1970s.

and like i said ive never read articles on that, although there is a big critique on consumerism. its true some people overspend on their clothes

and when the median wage is $16/hr, what do you expect?

Ricky Bobby there is poor and there is ignorant poor . my family was poor. They did not beg for handouts they learned how to be frugal and save for a rainy day. They would never have spent 700 dollars on an apple phone when they did not have a pot to piss in. When you blame the system the poor will feel helpless and never ever fend for theirselves. when you encourage responsible behavior you encourage them to pull theirselves up by their boot straps you give them their dignity back.

i encourage responsibility - the workers who produce the goods should also be responsible for making the decisions at their job, instead of taking orders from a minority.

lets not forget what malcolm x said about power. its gonna be up to the poor and middle class to rise up to take the power.

If you want to make the decisions go start your own company. If you instead choose to work for someone else you can't expect to also be allowed to make the decisions.

thats what you think, and thats because you think capitalism is reasonable just like people in the past thought slavery / feudalism were reasonable for the same reasons.

a few hundred years ago political democracy was a radical idea. we take it for granted now.

economic democracy is a radical idea now. people wont think twice in the future if it catches on.

capitalism is already failing, it failed environmentally a long time ago, but now its failing in america across the board. which is why more democrats support socialism than capitalism now.

even though alot of the guys i listen to talk about worker controlled industy, id like to know how thats supposed to fix global warming

That's the only way some of these small companies can survive.
Very hard to make a good living farming or dairy ,when you are dealing with mega farms.
