Personally, sometimes less hours during peak than outside of peak. I am on pace for 40-41 this week. 22.3 life.
I signed up for double shift on peak season, how many hours a day should I be expected to work

If work is available, at least 8. If there is an early day you may be offered to go, but here, extensions who sign up for 8 are guaranteed 8.
If you were in my building, as many as you want. After Thanksgiving it's a free-for-all around here. Come and go as you please, so long as you complete your regular shift. We've had guys working 22, 23 hours a day last year. The only guy I know of that went over 24 got chewed out by management though.
