Apparently hub is expecting a storm and we will be loading all our p2 freight into ground 53 footers next week...

Handlers are starting early
I kind of think the storm is a facade for
Transferring freight to ground!

We'll see jabronis

Are you sure it is FDX Ground trailers you will be loading into? Usually when freight is trucked back and forth to MEMH it is done with contractors like Prime. Ground doesn't even have enough drivers for their own freight. Do you know how many FDX freight locations are sending drivers over to Ground to move their trailers?

Ground trailers driven by Freight or contractors, Ground line haul is worst then Ground P&D for keeping drivers.

It seems we are continuing to send p2 to Ground..
Apparently our station was "untouchable" because of size? Ground is definitely taking over, pretty soon we will only be delivering p1 and this might lead to everyone being part time at express.

It's brilliant really, they will then offer you full-time at ground no benefits 👍🏻or Stay at express part time with benefits, eventually scrapping the benefits for part timers as well

That's pretty much what corporate has been saying for quite awhile now. The longer an Express employee remains in denial the more painful the new reality that confronts them is going to be. Even more so for someone for whom trucking is the only kind of work they know, they go over to Ground and discover lower wages, no benefits and a daily work experience that is anything but pleasant.
