Another way of ignoring, without actually hitting the ignore button, is to simply not reply to that particular person's posts. Read them all you like or not, but no one says you have to respond.

the problem may be you have to expose yourself to their stupidity. I was fine with that concept until certain people took their shots from the normal debate theatrics to something much more personal.

If someone ticks you off while driving, do you follow them around till they hear your point of view? How much easier is it to let something that someone on the internet says just fade into nothingness? It may help to picture that particular poster as what they really are. Home, probably in their underwear, wishing they had a friend, but since they don't they do all they can to get any kind of attention, even if it's negative attention. Just sayin!
