If I am not mistaken Sears eliminated their catalog division several years ago. I'm surprised JCPenny took this long to do the same.

A local business on my route is now operating a Pennys catalog center out of a spot in its building. It works like Walmart's ship to store. They can order things and if it gets shipped to this business for pickup shipping is free. The Pennys store in my town just closed.

As long as you can still go to jcp.com and order stuff, what's the difference? A huge paper book?

ahh the good ole days, JCPenney sheets and clothes in little plastic bags that you could leave behind the storm door. Now it's Sleep Number beds and pressboard furniture that you'll more than likely get a call tag for return in a few days....

Long before the internet came along, when I was a teenager the JC Penney catalog was frequently perused. :wink2:

Internet killed the phonebooks too !
I guess UPS management is using all that saved paper, instead !
