It doesn't matter what we do at this point.
Democrats have taken a position of weakness and capitulation. Which is also obviously the standard European position as well.
As the greatest most powerful country on earth, we can lead the world into peace through strength, as Reagan did.... or we can accept that people like Putin will do stuff like this.
Anything in between is just stupid meaningless virtue signaling and political posturing.
Everything necessary to isolate a rogue nation is a good thing. Otherwise it's all meaningless rhetoric with no teeth and rogue nations would run wild. Appeasement looks like what's happening with the Iran nuclear deal. Not giving them what they want and putting harsh sanctions on them was working. Not putting sanctions on Russia or arming Ukraine when Russia was massing troops on their border was appeasement. But we have people here who seem to admire Putin and are sympathetic to the Russians. They have a long history of dominating people around them and only seem to understand strength. But people want to make a false equivalence between them slaughtering civilians now and past actions of our own government. We can't let them off the hook now because of our own historical failings. Nor should we always say we were wrong in all our past actions because some were very necessary. Absolutely nothing was necessary that required Russia to invade its neighbor. Many thousands are being slaughtered and we're so desensitized to killing by our entertainment that we wave it off as no big deal. If it was on our street, was our neighbors, our family, we would feel different.

Aside from it being ridiculously easy to stage incidents and stream them via social media in order to provoke a response from the world, I was pondering why this massive response from the world when other countries that sit on this BS platform get away with the same thing?

The CIA instigated the euro maidan coup in 2013/14. NATO ensnares Russia in its traditional homeland constantly. And Russia is sick of the west meddling in a border country Ukraine. They are actually defending their best interests.
Unlike the US when it ruins places like Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Etc. When it loses to territory and war to Afghani goat herders. It’s actually laughable.
It's the scale of it. And the threat of going beyond Ukraine. There are reporters from all over the world there too observing up close.
Who are the Russians to dominate their neighbors like this? Do you think the Kazakhs, Kyrgyzs, Uzbeks, Georgians, Ukrainians, etc want to be dominated by the Russians?

The countries that you’ve just mentioned are hypothetical. Has nothing to do with the subject. Ukraine is a country ripe with corruption and puppet government, it can’t be sacrificed to the west that close to Russia.
