FedEx paid 0.25 percent in taxes on earnings from Mexico, France and Brazil after sending the money through Hong Kong in a complicated deal.

Fred would still complain that FedEx is "overtaxed". Listening to him whine about the US corporate tax rate makes me sick, because FDX pays basically nothing. The GOP says we have one of the highest tax rates in the world, but they fail to mention we have incredible loopholes and write-offs for corporate criminals like Smith.

And now he has a republican House and Senate majority. I'm sure he's licking his chops.

Annoy a liberal today. Hit them with facts.
You do realize that the IRS is under the Treasury Department, part of the Administration, and not part of Congress? There's no trying.
Congress and the president together can abolish the treasury dept. and replace it with another dept.

I understand nothing will change in D.C.
Actually, as Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid squelched over 300 bills sent to him by the House of Representatives. Now both houses will pass bills and send them on to Obama to either sign or veto. That's assuming the Democrats won't filibuster to prevent that.

Exactly nothing will change.

God, are you that dumb? Do you really think that's going to happen? Somehow, you (and others) think there is now a mandate for sweeping overhaul. It isn't going to happen. To pretend that the GOP is going to get a Christmas List delivered is just clueless reasoning.

Our government is broken, and the Republicans another chance to "fix" it, just like they did when they drove us off a cliff. Floor it, and full reverse!!

Look for a complete overhaul of the tax system to be on the agenda when the new Congress convenes.

Why would they want that? It would just cost them more, this is a perfect system to them. Cry about high tax, but then have so many deductibles making their effective tax rate well under 10%, but neglect to ever discuss that. If we did a flat, that would be in the 20's and they wouldn't have a way to get that down to what they enjoy today. It isn't happening.

If policies are enacted that increase employment then just maybe we can reduce welfare roles and get people back to work.

Companies have been making more than ever, the stock market has skyrocketed. Why haven't they been hiring and passing good will on to hires? If they do now it will look like the good ole boy network. They will continue to run lean and try to get leaner to continue propping up the stock. We'll see.
