Minimums have gone away

"Just checking to see if you heard about the buzz at FedEx. No more minimums. There's going to be a mad Exodus now. People that have those second jobs that just needed 2 or 3 hours. They're not guaranteed that 17.5 and the full-timers are not getting a guaranteed 35. This is crazy. Crazy times"

I have no idea how FedEx ground even manages to get their daily work done. I literally have a new driver in my area every couple of weeks that’s all these people last on these routes. Several years ago, at least knew the driver’s name and say hi to them now I don’t even bother.

It’s only gonna get worse until the employees wake up.

I hardly bother to learn the new guy’s names, and they work for me.

You have to admire Fats and Raj for the boldness of their restructuring initiative but judging by the comments on here all of you have and with good reason serious doubts about whether or not Fats and Raj actually have an end game or are they simply expecting their enslaved contractors to somehow out of sheer desperation produce a highly creative and profitable new business model.
Remember contractors in Fats eyes are just low level managers to be bossed around and cuffed around in the same vein as his own salaried managers. To him, they're all the same.

'buzz at FedEx'.....means another rumor going around with no documentation to back it up....like the OT paper

It'll happen though. But, only after the new OT policy sinks in.

It's not a rumor buddy, already been confirmed with management at my station. At least in Irvine, California they took em away.

If you are still at fedex get out before they rape you.

My take is they are going to crash the whole small package system both Express and Ground. The huge stock buybacks are cashing all your chips at the casino. This money is the cash the company has on watch for Freddy and Raj to sell more stock.

Do they still work for you the same amount of time now? Or is it a faster turnover rate?
Turnover is getting pretty high now. Not the worst I’ve seen, but bad. 4 years of cuts to the contract haven’t allowed me to keep wages terribly competitive. The new hires are much lower quality than they’ve been in the past. We still somehow pay better than Amazon though so we poach their people often. They aren’t the best drivers.

Got another new guy on the route next to me today, number five or six this year lol.

If Express is also going to be delivering ground freight or vice versa, I don't think anyone is going to have to worry about minimums.
You still think express delivering ground freight is part of the plan lol…. Cute. Unless you live in Hawaii or Alaska, contractors will be delivering everything eventually. That’s the point of combining the operations under one umbrella. To eliminate redundant work/positions. An employee and contractor working in the same area is redundant. They’re eliminating that. If you can’t see that, even when the company has flat out said it, well then you deserve what’s coming. And with that IQ, will likely end up working a drive thru.

Lol look at you taking a shot. I also said in the same sentence if ground is delivering express we won't have to worry much about minimums will we? Tone it down man. I don't get the hostility. I didn't know I had such a fan.
I will say I probably know some things you don't, but that doesn't mean I know that much more as of yet.

What we can all agree is whatever the plan may be, it will fail miserably like everything else fedex has done.

It’s not really you. It’s the overall consensus of hope that Express employees seem to be clinging to. The blatant “legacy station” lies they’re being fed. People want to believe their job isn’t being eliminated. But if you’re a courier…. Your job is 100% being eliminated. They’re not being shy about this.

I guess we’d have to figure out what “fail” means to them. Doesn’t look like the company is concerned with preserving a model or volume growth. Only thing that matters is ROI.

Also true. Honestly it wouldn’t surprise me with how stupid this company is, for them to merge the operations to eliminate redundancy. And then just not eliminate redundancy. I think this place is dumb enough to do that lol.

That’s what happens when you got hundreds of Dano’s making decisions!😂
