Pied Piper....

There was a Pied Piper who said,
“We live in the greatest country in the world. Help me change it!”
*And the people said, “Change is good!”

Then he said, “We are going to tax the rich fat-cats,”…
*And the people said “Sock it to them!”

“and redistribute their wealth.
*And the people said, “Show me the money!”

And then he said, “Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody”
*And Joe the plumber said, are you kidding me?”

And Joe’s personal records were hacked and publicized.
*And one lone reporter asked, “Isn’t that Marxist policy?”

And she was banished from the kingdom!
Then someone asked, “With no foreign relations experience, how will you deal with radical terrorists?”

And the Pied Piper said, “Simple. I’ll sit down and talk with them and show them how nice we really are and they’ll forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!”

Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll give 95% of you lower taxes.”
*And one, lone voice said, “But 40% of us don’t pay ANY taxes.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Then I’ll give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!”
*And the people said, “Show me the money!”

Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!”
*And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.

And he said, “I’ll mandate employer- funded health care for EVERY worker and raise the minimum wage.”
*And the people said, “Gim’me some of that!”

Then he said, “I’ll penalize employers who ship jobs overseas.”
*And the people said, “Where’s my rebate check?”

Then the Pied Piper actually said, “I’ll bankrupt the coal industry and electricity rates will skyrocket!”
*And the people said, “Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don’t care for that part about higher electric rates.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Not to worry. If your rebate isn’t enough to cover your expenses, we’ll bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles are over!” Then he said, “Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let’s grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing.”
*And the people said, “Ole`! Bravo!” And they made him King!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business and the economy slowed even further. Then the Pied Piper said, “I am the Messiah and I’m here to save you! We’ll just print more money so everyone will have enough!” But our foreign trading partners said, “Wait a minute. Your dollar isn’t worth what it was. You’ll have to pay more.”
*And the people said, “Wait a minute. That’s not fair!”

And the world said, “Neither are these other, idiotic programs you’ve embraced. You’ve become a Socialist state and a second-rate power. Now you’ll play by our rules!”
*And the people said, “What have we done?”

But it was too late.
If you think this is a fairy tale, open your eyes and ears. It’s happening RIGHT NOW!
Did you know the president’s name is really an acronym…

One Big Astounding Mistake America

Maybe it's the disingenious labeling facter and the falsehood nature of the questions. Maybe most people are full of glee that Neo-con Republicans are no longer in charge and won't be lying and hypercritical to the american people any longer.

yep you got some true professional hypercritical liars in office now. Makes the neo cons look like light wieghts.

Obama and pals just fired the CEO of General Motors, but I notice
they didn't ask any of the AIG slime to step down. Pressuring CEO's to retire or step down is one good step towards the Government dictating who will run its companies.

I gotta say, I never thought I'd ever again hear as much whining and sniveling as I did from the left after the 2000 and 2004 elections. You guys seem determined to make them look like amateurs at the crying game though :sad-very:.

Take my advice, grow up and move on. You'll get another shot in 4 years and crying every day won't make it come any quicker. Go barbecue or something...
Yes go barbecue you whiners.
Before Propane and the luxury of steak is only a memory.

There was a documentary on the History Channel about the Communist Revolution in China They had to dress in similar clothes to make sure nothing "stood out too much"... it was crazy.

I would save major $$$ on clothing. I would gain closet space. TJ Maxx would go out of business.

I guess it would be nice to be ordinary. It would feel different just to blend in with the crowd. I guess I would feel free because I wouldn't have to worry about anything. All my primary needs would be covered...from this day forward. ( Cradle to Coffin )

Or I rent Braveheart and memorize the words and prepare to fight for my country.....

My father, bless his soul, taught me to respect the office of the President of the United States. He didn't like Carter...Clinton stressed him out...(and yes he belonged to a Union and voted as an American not as a AFL-CIO member) and we cried together when Ronnie passed.

Daddy...I am afraid. I lost that respect you taught me and my gut is in knots. Like Sammie wrote in an earlier post....America RIP.

Funny you should mention Greenwald
:wink2:

America, RIP

I'm actually gonna disagree with that statement although I agree I'm not happy with the direction of America either as it relates to Washington. But in fairness, I wasn't happy before the most recent election either so there you go! :happy-very:

That said, people are talking more and more and learning to question gov't and also that things are not always as they appear. People are talking about what is in the Constitution and even reading it. Very bad for gov't! :bigsmile2::dance::water_happy:

Court decisions and actions of gov't are being openly discussed and debated, often intensely which again is a very healthy sign. People learn from this, hear varying points of view and more importantly is the fact that different people want to live their lives in different ways.

The question is, do we have a national society that allows local communities to seek their own course in life in which we all benefit over time as the best cream always rises to the top or do we continue to do like Communist China as ajblakejr pointed out and make everyone wear the same exact set of cloths? Could you imagine trying to make only one standard set of clothes that work at all times for say someone who lives in Fargo ND. and then for someone who lives in Miami. Either one's gonna freeze to death or die of heat stroke! It comes down to who has better poltical connections that will determine the outcome.

ajblakejr,

The same standard of clothing actually is a business decision of the communist state. Since the State owns all means of production, a diverse product line would increase costs to the State and since they hold a monopoly on clothing, all decisions are based on what's in the best interest of the State, not the interest or demands of a free choosing customer! However, we live under the illusion that this type of total monopoly is only seen in a pure communist society and that is not always the case. We have various stages of monopolization in America too but we refuse to see it in the same manner as China.

But as I said, people are starting to explore these ideas and more from a independent and even individualist POV and that gives me great hope. As America's gov't presses forward in ever great and expansive roles never before seen on our shores, more and more people will rebel if only in thought and word and then the best part of all will be the need for gov't to then begin to suppress this and it will effect many different political sides. That may be the event that sends it all over the edge.

What the State really needs to fear is the growing convergence among the so-called right ie paleo-con/libertarians and the so-called left ie paleo-left/progressives and seen in this discussion between Lew Rockwell and Naomi Wolfe as both sides discover that the State itself has gotten way to big!

Not one dime of that bailout money should have
been used for bonuses. Nobody did their homework.

Cabinet member hopefuls who should have had their
checks garnished. Homework issue again.

Hiring Wall Street insiders to set the economy straight

Double standards regarding accountability

25 million people thumping the pavement for work while his
Stimulating might save 3.5 million jobs over 2 years

No plan to bring down the ridiculous cost of higher education in
America, but plenty to go around for earmarks and insane
spending projects

Spreading himself too thin, trying to do too much, too fast.

Now he wants to mess with the electorial votes.

Why not ? Think about it.
He has started his revolution .
His grand plan to convert The USA into the USSA is going well.
He must do all this before he is found out to be a fraud and removed from office. For once a government program begins , it never ends.

You guys should have been this vocal with Bush. As you said, "once a program starts" but aren't you about 8 years to late?
