I still have to wonder where they get their ammo 5 years into the apocalypse. They are always low on ammo and trying to conserve yet always have full magazines when they need them. Why haven't they gone full medieval instead of getting in close to use a knife where they are in biting range? I would get myself something like a halberd that I can use at more than arms length. Spike and axe on one end and steel capped butt on the other. If they insist on getting in close why not a small shield like a buckler for their off hand?

My SKS has the Chinese spike bayonet which is better. Unless you want to use it as a knife. My AK bayonet is a pretty good knife but still not as good when used as a bayonet.
