It looked like a repeat of Herschel's farm except the dead were around the town instead of locked in a barn. I mean their refusal to face the reality that those are just brainless dead people walking around.

Was it that? Though maybe fleeing Hotel staff may have done it. The jumper walkers were fun to watch. Reminded me of an old Monty Python sketch.
