All you have to do is to take a look at the boys over at Verizon . On strike for more than a month . Taking a stand against the outsourcing of their jobs to some low wage subcontractors as well as shipping jobs off shore. They had the courage to put their balls on the anvil and that's what it will take to change the daily work experience at Fedex. A binding contract that X can't unilaterally change anytime any place any where and in a manner that better serves their interests. It's too bad that your chance of forming a union were better 35 years ago before the Republicans took control and passed pro-business laws that made organizing much harder along with right to work state laws. Be that as it may one cold reality still remains. Capitalism exists for one purpose and one purpose only and that is to make profits not create jobs especially the family sustaining kind.

Shut up and slave away for ol' Hitler Satan Smith. Call him "Massa."

Nah, I'll just call him The Weasel. You're much like him...sneaky and conniving. If you really want to be like Fred, you need to start killing some people with your car, preferably while you're drunk.

Just telling it like it is

Dano needs permission from his mom to take the car out first.

As long as you're willing to put money in his pocket...

Smith has successfully created a FedEx Express that is essentially union-proof. The IBT knows this, and that's why they won't even answer phone calls from Express employees. The RLA and the Express Carrier Exemption in combination with the anti-union culture ensure no union in the foreseeable future. Pretty much zero chance.

"Taking a stand" at Express means that most of us would lose our jobs and be replaced by some $15 per hour import from aThird World country where FedEx would be a dream job compared to what they had. The only way this would really work is for everyone to just stop working and sit there, and that won't happen. Too many fearful folks and Purple People who wouldn't participate. The one workgroup that could really make this happen is the RTDs, although they could be quickly replaced by a third party trucking outsource firm, so any damage would be short-term.

It's criminal, but Mr. Smith has played the system and the politicians just right, and his millions in investments in the right players has paid off for him big time.
