However, then we have Obamacare. We don't need it, yet the teamsters support him. For what? I can't believe how condesending(sp?) they speak to us in the newsletters about Obama and Elizabeth Warren here in MA being for "the working family" and "helping labor unions" Give me a fing break.
I support more of the Republican fiscal platform than the Democrat one, but I will never vote for a Republican candidate (with some exceptions). Right wing candidates represent the interests of big business such that OSHA, in my state, has relaxed regulations so that UPS can open doors and operate "staggered start times" (300 trucks leaving within 30 minutes of each other) as acceptable ventilation procedures; no longer does UPS need to operate a ventilation system (to their credit, they finally attempted to fix it). Right wing-appointed judges also stopped the progress of the FedEx Ground lawsuits, saying it was OK for FedEx to treat contractors as employees. I could go on and on...
And I don't know why you're opposed to ObamaCare. Insurance in general is a socialist idea. Health insurance companies have, for many years, denied coverage to persons with cancer, HIV, etc. The US government is already providing heavy subsidies to these patients. While ObamaCare doesn't solve the health insurances injustices within this country (which could never be solved, anyway), it's a start. Perhaps now people with HIV, cancer, etc. can go see the doctor early on and increase their chances of survival, rather than waiting until the diseases have progressed and the government is willing to pay for the expensive care they'll need.
