In another thread Brown Eyed Girl was vilifed for working according to her belief system.
not at all to do with her work ethic. it had everything to do with her management team telling her what to do, and then not paying her for what they agreed to. has nothing to do with her work ethic. but then again, her story kept changin........
i started pickin tomatos for heinz when i was 6. hot, nasty work, for which i was paid about 3 bucks a day. 12+ hour days as well, 6 days a week.
work ethic is what drives some to excel, others just to watch life pass by. and as has been stated, the teamsters value system is to see that both are rewarded the same. but that also can be said for non union businesses.
that is why owning your own business is at times rewarding. only down side is that the gooberment acts like a set of iron bars to keep the little man little, with all their restrictions and laws to conform to. many of which are down right assinine........
klein, you still dont get it, do you. while your lunch is actually your time, you were not off the clock for the day, just your lunch. and until you are totally punched out for the day, you dont drink. period. and yes, we all know that no one has ever run your route as good as you, nor will there ever be another human that will ever hold a light to your production prowess. it was a great loss to ups canada.
