Pretty certain the half that supports those things think that the conservative half is ignorant, uneducated, unsophisticated, brainwashed, greedy, superstitious. I know Democrats too. They are every bit as you say. But they shake their heads at Republicans and wonder how we think the way we do. They're more comfortable with BLM riots because of past grievances than they are with the Jan. 6th riot because of its connection with the focus of all their anger, Trump. They'd rather believe that Biden is doing a good job than ever believe Trump did. And that is reflected in polling. Biden's poll numbers are historically bad but there's still about 36-38% who think he's doing a good job. Or at least tell the pollster that because they consider it important to support Democrats no matter what. So their heads might not spin while spitting pea soup(A horror movie reference for you Zoomers), but there's a great divide between them and us.

I think back to a much simpler time when democrats "supported the working man" or those less fortunate & the Republicans were about picking yourself up & MAKING MONEY without gov't interference.

Of course there were other things besides those but that was the gist of the 2 sides.

The animals they have become are unrecognizable. It's sad to know that normality will never return, civility is long gone.

I agree. And I'm willing to listen to reasonable Democrats. Bill Maher is a prime example. I don't agree with his views on a lot of things. But he does say a lot of truthful things. I know Republicans who despise him and don't care if he says something true. But truth is truth.

I think a lot of voters who believe that abortion is sometimes necessary are having to choose between a side that wants abortion banned or heavily restricted and a side that wants abortion to be allowed at any point. That equation just doesn't go well for Republicans.
