2011 Management Job Reductions

With everyone in discussion about the reduction of districts and regions...how come the obvious is never mentioned....reducing the board of directors!

The Board of Directors is comprised of "outside" members. The huge cost factors, salary, stock ,options, benefits are not in play.
Now if you are talking about reducing the Management Committee there are big bucks there !!!:wink2:

You mean to say "The Board of Directors is comprised of 'outside' members. The huge cost factors, salary, stock, options, benefits are not in play.", do not factor in the "runnin of the company"? You mean to say they don't have input into what the company does, from day to day, or week to week, or stock run to stock run?

Then, tell me. what is the role of "Board of Directors"?

The "Board" does not care about the "huge cost factors, salary, stock, options, benefits"?

As an "outside" board director on "other" interests, I certainly DO care about "huge cost factors, salary, stock, options, benfits" and other "interests" that affect my "board". AND, by golly, I make sure those "interests" are followed, right down to the "T"! Or else I'm not a board member! Copy?

If I dont' follow them...I'm out! Copy?

..."benefits are not in play" does not compute here.

Before you get yourself in an uproar, look at the CONTEXT of this discussion. The question was dealing with reducing cost by reducing management numbers.
??????????
The discussion of what they decide or what policies they recommend that are related to cost is a much different discussion.
This thread is dealing with the reduction of Management.
Very clearly reducing the number of outside Directors does not impact the cost numbers we are discussing!!
Copy ??? What causes the rudeness ?? Having a bad day ???:sad-little:

Cutting the board is like getting rid of commission based sales people.

They earn their living by making the company a profit.

If they profit in the process, isn't that better than getting rid of them and letting everyone lose?

Job Reduction is very healthy for the company. As people retire the vacancies are not filled. It works the same way whether your union or management. Think about the 22.3's out there that are left and will stay vacant. Think about some of the full time specialist jobs out there that have been vacant for quite some time. The company is aiming to be much more lean. Can you blame them?

I am all for it. Everyday when I walk around and see someone whether it be management or non managment standing around talking I say a prayer for that job to be eliminated....

And no matter what you are doing, the very same people are saying the same thing, yet only about you.

That may be so but there's always someone standing around. No matter what building your in, no matter what time of day it is. Until people stop standing around, I say cut away...

At the Corp Office they don't stand around. They SIT around in the cafeteria. They race each other to get "into the office" at 7am or so, and go straight to the cafeteria. They sit around drinking coffee and shooting the BS until 8:30 or so. Then 9:45 is coffee break time until 10:30. After that it's lunch from 11:30 until 1:00. Then another coffee break from 2:30 to 3:30. By the time they get back to work at 3:30, it's time to start winding it down for the day. I haven't been there lately, but this is pretty much what I saw when I was.

Who's supposed to make sure the tray return belt and the artificial river is working? These things take lots of resources. The Gym doesn't take care of itself either...
