It's a catch 22 Steve. Nobody said skipping ALL breaks was the 'right' thing to do. But, he chose not to. Besides, I'm sure he ate during the day. It just wasn't an official break.

No where in the contract I have seen does it say to skip breaks and lunches at own discretion to service customers. Therefore, no, it was the wrong thing to do.

"Work as directed" has become a very useful tool in these situations. Once a managers decision making can come into question, we have found more times than not, help will be sent ASAP. Tendencies of over dispatching go on a downward slide also. This is just one of the reasons why having a contract is beneficial.
