I was a 1 in 6. You must be the best pt sup in your bldg, or you don't have a prayer. I came out of a major air hub. You need to be in the full time promotion pool and have the blessing of your full timer, manager and division manager. In order to be a 1 in 6 you must be a valid candidate for full-time supervision, as they will likely offer you the chance to go into package supervision. Keep in mind that there is no going back, as the pt sup position you leave will be filled immediately. Don't forget, your just a pt sup and havn't earned any real value for the company, regardless of your own fantasy beliefs. Also, you will still need to pass your probation as a driver. Failure is not an option, and don't be a jerk and think your center manager is going to throw you a bone. They will take total advantage of your situation and make you truly earn your new job, even more so than a non-management trainee. They will hate on you because you've decided to jump ship. They will put you through the fires. Then, if you pass muster, you will truly value being a driver and never dream of leaving this classification and all the brotherhood of our union. Never go back.
