A possible MLK Holiday Solution?

Do you think the governments goals are different?
I’m not saying I have the answer, I’m just pointing out the facts and saying our system is definitely not the best, at least according to the data

Studies show public health care would save money 22 studies agree: ‘Medicare for All’ saves money

Granted these have their own draw backs, like longer wait times, but it’s just a matter of weighing the pros and cons

Pretty sure I said our system was pretty screwed up. In any instance more government is never the answer to much of anything especially your personal healthcare.

Yea I wasn’t arguing against you, I don’t know enough about it and I have amazing health insurance thanks to teamsters (although company health insurance is a lovely way for them to reduce our wages), I was just pointing out we as a country spend the most on health care by a large margin, and don’t see a great return on it, that’s all

On the other side, we are the only developed country in the world with private health care, we spend FAR more on healthcare than any other country in the world and we rank in the bottom half of health and life expectancy of the world

We’re definitely not doing everything right, and I’m not sure paying middle men whose main goal is profit and denying claims is the best system
Try self insurance companies used by Brown. They are your friend.

LOL UPS would not have us strike because of a holiday. A holiday on a Monday which they have already cut routes to go on Sat instead. Also closing on a Monday no double time to tues sat workers who show up to help.
The company doesn't lose anything by giving us MLK day they already basically took away the day after thanksgiving. They would save money, because most employees work the day after thanksgiving and get a paid holiday.
We already heard that they agreed to MLK day.

In the west we get 7 paid sick days. I've been at UPS 32yrs I receive 6 weeks paid vacation, with an added two weeks where I can split up the days. Also, our sick days roll over, some of my coworkers have hundreds of hours of sick days, were if you save over two weeks of sick days you can use the rest as vacation time. I know two coworkers that have saved them so when they retire, they will cash them out.
Wow the west gets better pension plans, sick days and healthcare.

I didn’t realize there were such big differences within regions, that’s crazy

At least socialist have healthcare. Capitalism here is false witness wrapped in corporations. Homelessness is a broken $ system. We are in trouble…
Healthcare that they can’t afford to use or have to wait months for isn’t healthcare. There’s no such thing as something for nothing. The people providing healthcare have to make a living same as anyone else

Not true. $ is created out of nothing and given away so why not use “air $” to finance it.
