I can tell you with out a doubt that Shawn O'Brien didn’t do a damn thing to get people interested in voting! I have no idea where you are getting such bad information.

Even ginned up interest is more interesting than we used to have. Probably won’t carry over into the next contract or election.. We shall see.I can tell you with out a doubt that Shawn O'Brien didn’t do a damn thing to get people interested in voting! I have no idea where you are getting such bad information.
Nope, that’s not what I’m talking about it all. This was basically bringing a major pension fund up to a reasonable level and there’s still plenty of other pension funds that need to be fixed. Ask @IVE GOTTA PACKAGE 4UOk, it cost more to live in NYC metro. Let's give them wages that would have gone to membership in lower cost area's like the Central! Another idea is, give more wages to those with families to support, less to single folk. The rat hole is endless.
I know Sean O'Brien got members interested in voting but I've never heard of this Shawn O'Brien guy.Even ginned up interest is more interesting than we used to have. Probably won’t carry over into the next contract or election.. We shall see.
Also, I’ve never seen more people vote for a
contract that have no idea what is in it.
I can’t wait for some more practice picketing!!

Not really something I think needs to be practiced, but I understood the idea behind the exercise of bringing people together. It did nothing to scare the company, but me have shown some of the members what unity can look like.Yeah- that practice picketing showed 'em...
Why would we have joined Teamcare? We (west/177) have a superior healthcare plan that was offered to everyone by Andy, but everyone else declined. We were told to make it happen with the same budget and we did it. Maybe you should've been more "our union" at that point and tried to make sure everyone got better healthcare. You will want to keep all of the benefits of a national contract, specifically to change of operations, once UPS starts automating and merging buildings in North Jersey. So if you’re on a national seniority list, why don’t you want to play by the rules the contract has laid out as far as Health and Welfare and Pensions? Your local wouldn’t be in this situation if you had gotten into Teamcare, and that’s fine, you guys made that choice and now have to live with it.
I’m not sure what is better about your healthcare plan? It possible that it is I don’t know everyone’s plan, the only thing I don’t like about Teamcare that you have to have one punch a week to receive healthcare benefit benefits. Why would we have joined Teamcare? The 1-punch/week/month seems to be regional, we're one a week too but I've heard other areas are one per month.I’m not sure what is better about your healthcare plan? It’s never really been a problem for me, but occasionally it is a problem for others outside of that it’s amazing healthcare that fortunately I rarely use, my family does though.
I think our co-pays are $20, prescriptions are five dollars but you can get them free if you have a 90 day supply sent to your house. Like I said, I don’t use very much of that. My wife knows more than me. I do know our deductibles changed and got better a couple years ago.The 1-punch/week/month seems to be regional, we're one a week too but I've heard other areas are one per month.
From what I understand, the differences are small. We don't have a deductible at all, minimal (typically $10) co-pays and I've heard our prescription coverage is better. @104Feeder knows more about this than any of us, he briefly described it to me a few years ago, but I don't recall the exact differences.
Lifetime max is much bigger too.The 1-punch/week/month seems to be regional, we're one a week too but I've heard other areas are one per month.

The reason the extra money is coming out is because your pension is doing so well. (Which btw, you don’t need increases to pension payments for a pension to thrive). Why would we have joined Teamcare? 177 brags about how they have the “old” healthcare, and that’s fine, but the rest of Jersey didn’t. Stay in your lane West Coaster.
I don't care if my pension can "thrive" without increased contributions, my pension is directly tied to the contributions made on my behalf. Reducing or canceling contribution increases reduces the potential of my future pension. The reason the extra money is coming out is because your pension is doing so well. Just because my trustees didn'tme doesn't make it okay to take from me. That would be like saying your investments are doing better than mine, so Edward Jones needs to start sending your investment money to my portfolio instead of yours for a while.
Neat.
