I asked my night Union Steward why he went ahead of me to start delivering? He told me that it was because The Designated Air Driver. I know he is full of * and is such a suck up to management. I didn't respond but later contacted the head Steward of our Hub. I text him and he never writes me back. I see him the next day at work and he says, "hi" but never came over to talk to me and address the problem. So, I went above his head and contacted the Regional Union Representative. He said he wld make some calls and get back to me. I am not feeling very positive about any back up help. I am a woman and I am not a Spring Chicken, but I work hard and fast...maybe being a Delivery Driver cld be too much for me, but I don't like being lied to and pissed down my back telling me it's raining. Any advice?

Was there a bid posted for a friend/T driving job? Did you sign it? Seniority must be followed when awarding jobs. If it was not followed, file a grievance ASAP.

I never signed anything..I made it clear from the start I wanted to drive delivery. They were happy I wanted to and sent me to driving school. Yes I am aware that my start date is not until after my Seasonal Driving. I had 4 months on the person they put infront of me. As I have worked there and learned more, I sorta realized that Delivery Driver wld be a lot and maybe not for me. I was just upset that they didn't ask me if I wanted to try it and my night Steward lied to me and the Hub Steward ignored my text and I called BA and he said he wld make some calls and get back to me...Crickets..what is the point of a Union if you are just brushed off?

They can send anybody to driving school if they want, they only run into a problem when they try to give him a friend/T driving job before you. Make sure you check the bid board weekly and sign all bids. The only way someone with less seniority than you can get a job before you is if they sign the bid and you don't.

Yes, there were no driving bids up, so I know that didn't happen. They haven't updated the Seniority board in like 1.5 years
