Amazon Water and AOC Oil Don't Mix

From the article:

The people who spoke out against the deal want that, that was the point.

And this:

Uh, no we don't, and this is a great example of how local citizens can stop it.

The author just said, it's bad, but deal with it, socialism blah blah blah.

Pretty much typical Breitbart garbage.
No they said it’s better than the alternative of completely losing out until better alternatives are found

I know you aren't the brightest bulb in the room but read my post again.
NYC has lost many, many of company headquarters since the 1960's.
It has made gains in the last couple of decades but HQs were fleeing from NYC until Giuliani came along.
I agree with that but then there is no way in hell that a company would open in NYC with their taxes and rules.
Yep, they're fleeing so fast NYC will be a ghost town in a few years. Smh.......

The author isn't suggesting anyone look for a better solution, he's suggesting to accept these anti-free market subsidies as the inevitable.

3 billion dollars for 25,000 jobs is a joke. You think they're gonna give someone 1.2 million for moving a business with 10 employees there?

Amazon wasn't forced to not build in New York. Ttku....
No they weren’t but they saw it was gonna be more trouble than they wanted. OVER 200 OFFERS FROM OTHER CITIES.

But I’m sure if you ran amazon you’d take the worst off that was the biggest pain for the good of the ppl

I'm not into world domination, so I really couldn't care less. Bezos has more in common with Drumpf than not.

The $3 billion figure includes $2.5 billion in tax discounts from pre-existing incentive programs that any NYC business willing to locate in certain areas could qualify for. And it's been estimated that Amazon would have generated in the ballpark of $24-27 billion in tax revenues for the state and city over the next 25 years.

Wow.
I just looked into that excelsior jobs program they're using, looks like new York is throwing money at pretty much anyone willing to locate there.

A real race to the bottom in this country. Sad.

“That doesn’t mean she’s wrong about crony capitalism. Anyone who understands anything about fairness is appalled by this ongoing grift where large corporations and institutions (like Hollywood) get special treatment from the government.”

“So we just have to learn to live with crony capitalism while we try to put an end to it through argumentation and the electing of politicians who understand that a reasonable tax and regulatory environment is the best way to attract business and negate the need to offer incentives/bribes.”

These are direct quotes from the article. You saw the source and now your bias is showing.

It's not bias I can read between the lines.

“So we just have to learn to live with crony capitalism"

Translation: shut up and accept it.

25k jobs making 6 figures, 4 million sq ft of office space to be built with room for 8 million in the future, more jobs to increase the infrastructure.

The numbers were 3 billion for up to a trillion added to the economy over the next 20 years.

And let’s not forget they weren’t the only ones offering these deals. Hundreds of cities were in on trying to lure amazon. Why? They felt it was worth it.

$Trillion? Now even Drumpf couldn't make that up.

That’s your personal bias that’s trying to read between the lines. You’re giving one sentence way more weight than everything else that was written.

Ok.
I guess the author could just be delusionally optimistic. Well just vote for politicians that will lower taxes and we won't need these incentives. Lol, ok, when people stop voting for Republicans and Democrats all our problems will work out.
