Not the hr power ted had , but he did hit a lot if dingers , what would these guys have done if not for the War !!
Cove, I understand everything you are saying. My only point is pitching is different today, as with all sports they are more refined, more analyzed. Read Williams book, The Science of Hitting, I'm just not sure his career would have turned out the same in this era. Not a definitive statement, just wondering. As it stands, Williams is the best. My opinion.

No that is not why they called it that. It was the steriod era because enough players chose that path. I Personally know many players from that era, most didn't some did. Brett Boone, he's a big yes. I know him. Frank Thomas, he's a big no. I know him. I could go on.

True but a good hitter will always hit
The game has changed , but Williams Ruth Stan mantle ,, all those guys faced pitchers that threw heat as well

Ortiz claimed it was from a supplement , wasn’t shooting it up , was being tested regular after that , never positive and still was hitting big !! Manny was a maroon bagged over and over again

My, dad if he was still alive could tell it all to you. I'm guessing he had to have won multiple series, Cards are second to Yankees. I miss my Dad cove.
Yes The cards are still number two all time I know musuial won a few just can’t think of what years
