Hernias don't only occur from lifting heavy objects, though that doesn't help any. There was a kid i went to high school with that had one onset when he was in the middle of giving his girlfriend the business end of his penis. After talking to him later about it he had actually thought he broke his little man.
On another note, I had a hernia when i was 2. It was from being overactive and runniing around too much. I didn't lift heaving things back then. 31 years later and I have had no signs of a relapse.
