If it's blended into the rest of your hair there's no reason for anyone to notice if it's under a hat. If it's actually shaved to the skin along the sides, someone will be bound to say something. The guideline uses the term "business-like manner" so I really don't know what specifically can fly or not. Though I do know first hand that certain members of management may try and bull you and distort the actual guideline to what they think it is. Hmmm, pretty convenient for them that it never loads on upsers for anyone to actually consult. As expected though, it's full of double standard horse.Mohawks?
