What you want is the government to force the news stand to carry playboy and ban censorship by a privately owned news stand.

This is not american. A single social media platform is not essential to anyone. You have the freedom to not use one and the freedom to use another. I fully support a right wing twitter or a hippie dippie safe space platform.

When has censorship been the American way? I don't want the government to force anything. It's role is as referee. You're essentially saying that it's ok for the owners of social media platforms to use their power to bully others as long as they are on your side. By that standard whites can be racist to blacks and the government is supposed to just look the other way. The government is supposed to insure a fair playing field for everyone and that extends to the modern public square aka social media. Too many times we are seeing what turns into a lynch mob before all the facts are known. The Press did that with Jewell, Zimmerman, and Sandmann before all the facts were known and got spanked in civil courts for doing so. You don't want social media to be held to the same standards so that you can attack those on the right without consequence. Encouraging people to find out where people live and work which one day will lead to tragedy is going too far. If social platforms can't regulate themselves then the government will have to step in.

I said common carrier there's a big difference. Twitter is nothing more than a soap box. Privately owned and operated soapbox. Big brother should only have minimum control of our soapbox's. Here's the difference. If twitter blocked/censored joe biden or cnn I'd be upset. I would not call for the government to get involved. I'd support another platform or protest twitter to change.

So if Twitter pushed a false narrative that hurt the candidate or network you're against you'd have no problem with it? No responsibility on Twitter's part to verify everything?

Ahh , see this is where it has to go to the Supreme Court because any company that is based on the general public and free speech ( which is what this country is based on ) they have to honor constitutional law . Free and FAIR speech is required , Constitutional law , I don't like government regulations but if they don't comply then so be it . The only other option is to break up the companies , which may happen !!!
