Cant make it in..

[Operational needs]

I called out yesterday because of snow. Not trying to break a bone. My route didn't go out. No biggie. I was given option of unpaid day or work Saturday. We used to be able to take vacation, personal or floater. I'm tired of fighting......

In our district, if you get stuck some were in the snow or ice and a wrecker had to be called out, that's considered a preventable accident.

I'm not surprised some upper management a*****e thought that up.

UPS will indeed charge you with an accident if you get stuck and they have to spend money to get you out or to repair any damage that you may have caused. If you are able to get out on your own, are willing to pay for the tow and you did not cause any property damage you will not be charged.

Really? I'm talking just stuck, with no damage to the vehicle. I find it hard to believe that what you describe is UPS policy.

Its true. If it costs UPS any money when you get stuck you get charged with an accident in most centers. Which is why drivers do everything possible to get themselves unstuck before calling in for a tow.

We have a guy in our sta. that gets stuck so often, the tow truck driver knows him by name.
