Testing the perfect engine to replace the VT365. This is the non-supercharged version of the Merlin. Seafair was this weekend and I was thinking about the old piston engine unlimited boats.

Here is precisely what my previous employment was like at a local EMD shop, except this is the 16 cylinder version instead of the 20. Shot in Argentina. The opening shot appears to be repairing damage from a thrown rod. A complete 20 cylinder one weighs 22 1/2 tons, has 3600hp and holds about 600 gallons of crankcase oil. I hated the run-in days on the test cell. 8 hours of full throttle with no bodywork on. The turbo noise just tears at your ears, even with protection. Guys on the cell would wear plugs and muffs.

Anyone know a good place to get m6 bolts? My alternator died after 142k miles and 20 years and when taking the thing off I snapped the tensioner bolt and Home Depot doesn't have a good selection of metric (shorter than oem and barely any threading) and Ace hardware had one with enough threading but it was barely long enough and that one ended up snapping while driving around for a week. Currently using one from HD which leaves the belt a little loose but at least it works.

It's a 94 Volvo 940 non turbo wagon so it's getting harder to find stuff for it.

I am lucky enough to have a small family owned hardware store near me, and if I ever need anything odd he will order it for me.

What a senseless tragedy. Why in the world was this guy wandering around on a dirt track under a green flag trying to confront Tony for an on-track incident? I have to think that Tony had no idea that Ward was on the track and didn't see him until it was too late. I find it hard to believe that Tony will be behind the wheel today at Watkin's Glen.

I would hope that, if Tony is cleared of any wrongdoing, that he decides that racing at these local dirt tracks is simply not worth it anymore. You are always going to have some local who is going to try to make a name for himself.
