Just because it's transmitted via aerosols doesn't mean it should be classified as airborne. There isn't a consensus on when something is designated as "airborne". It's a term that does nothing but scare people needlessly.
Flying micro snot and spit is exactly what's spreading it. Except for rioting type of protesting which is zero risk, I thought most colds and flu's mostly spread like that? How long it is in the air depends on many factors.Airborne usually refers to something that hangs around in the air. Not a flying gob of snot.
