Just because it's transmitted via aerosols doesn't mean it should be classified as airborne. There isn't a consensus on when something is designated as "airborne". It's a term that does nothing but scare people needlessly.

Airborne usually refers to something that hangs around in the air. Not a flying gob of snot.

Flying micro snot and spit is exactly what's spreading it. Except for rioting type of protesting which is zero risk, I thought most colds and flu's mostly spread like that? How long it is in the air depends on many factors.
