We had a good run, but China is back on top like they were before we overtook them in the late 1800s. It's not great, but I'm also not convinced that this is some kind of catastrophe. Especially considering that they have in fact already been the biggest economy for several years now when taking into account purchasing power parity.

Especially considering that they have in fact already been the biggest economy for several years now when taking into account purchasing power parity.

It should be a concern. They are a communist country that brutally oppresses minorities (ACTUALLY unlike here) and steals from other countries. Mainly us. They won’t stop with being the top economic power. They’ll want/need to expand.

China was fueled by us long before Biden. Trump was the first POTUS to stand up to them. Biden will appease them whether he’s actually in their pocket or not. That’s the liberal way. What’s happening should infuriate all Americans regardless of what “team” they support.

Trump only squeezed a few more dollars out of them with the tarrifs. It was nothing significant. People like to tout the foxconn deal as something but go research and see what a croc it is. If you know about computer tech you would know that foxconn isn't even a player in LCD screens. They fleeced the US on this deal that probably won't even come to fruition. All trump did was slow them down a year or 2 and got ivanka her patents while raising food prices here in the US.

Trump did nothing to really protect the intellectual property of US companies doing business in China. That is why they are trying sanctions but that is only going to piss them off. They are going to copy and steal everything that is made in their country so unless the world cuts off china or until real manufacturing comes back here to the US there is nothing to stop them. Taiwan is the only thing really that is keeping china from overtaking us right now.

Trump just made a big show of standing up to them and failed to do anything meaningful. He was right about the threat from China, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. The TPP deal, although bad for American workers, was engineered to outmaneuver China economically in that part of the world and Trump nuked it without a second thought.
