climate catastrophe

@rickyb Hey Ricky, just learned that although many in Canada protest against oil, it turns out that most of the oil revenue that Alberta produces is taken from them by your federal government in a policy called equalization and distributed to the other provinces. Supports all the social programs Canada has. Some provinces even have half of their funds come from Alberta oil revenue. Sure hope Alberta doesn't vote to secede. Canada will be third world without oil revenue. Imagine all the hand wringing politicians calling it dirty oil yet they gladly hold out their hands for oil money.

Countries that are most resource rich are not necessarily the best. Iran is on the list for example. I think usa is too.

9 are :censored2: hole countries except australia
if China's economy collapses so does Australia's. But we aren't talking about everyone's natural resources. We're talking about what happens to Canada if Alberta walks. Canada has built a somewhat socialist state with oil revenue while attacking oil production. And treated Alberta unfairly. There's a good chance Alberta might secede in the upcoming referendum. That would be catastrophic for Canada. My point being that liberals too often spend without regard to fiscal responsibility and sooner or later it catches up with them.

yanis varoufakis said if the political will is there, the money for programs appears

You don't get it. Canada's social welfare programs are paid for by oil money. The very thing you rag on all the time. If Alberta secedes then there goes your country. You'll have to be as hardcore capitalist as the U.S. in order to save it. And the U.K. was never as "blown up" as Germany and Japan were. Not even close.

If Varoufakis said that then it's no wonder why Greece's economy is in ruins.
