I've seen some questionable mod activity here in my short month or so of being here but the exchange that really upset me was watching a moderator tell a user that they should be "institutionalized" for their opinions. The user responded by calling the mod an "idiot" and the moderator said "don't call me an idiot or I won't let your posts through."

I requested an apology from the moderator for obviously holding his position of authority over the head of another user and I got laughed at and muted from the thread.

That’s what happens when you pay people in power. They do it for free.

They can’t even do the job. They just moderate based on their feelings and opinion. That is the problem with the moderation here.
They do the job for free and take a lot of abuse. They are also human and allowed to have their own opinions as are all we. Many times they have to make a judgement call on deleting a post. Do I agree with all the posts deleted? No. But I’m sure the vast majority DO need to be deleted.

Some people believe that rules are suggestions and shouldn’t apply to them. I’ve had lots of posts deleted. I guarantee you, I’m not going to get angry or lose any sleep over it. It’s a free site. Don’t like the rules or the mods, start your own. Just my 2 cents.

Calling someone, anyone, on here an idiot is considered a personal attack which can cause someone to end up in the mod queue. Might want to refresh yourself on the Terms of Service.

Mods shouldn't be above apologizing to users when they're in the wrong.

Exactly, which is why a moderator shouldn't be telling a user that they should be institutionalized.

I suggested the other party apologize for calling the mod an idiot but the mod deleted that too.
