Firefox backs up all your bookmarks online and periodically syncs them. Anytime you reinstall or just use a different device all you have to do is log into your account and all your bookmarks are right there. Pretty handy. Chrome probably has a similar feature but IE does not.

That is IF you log into your account and synch. I usually don't on my computer. You can save your firefox profile on your computer and transfer it to a new computer but a hassle to do it that way. I do log in on my phone because Chrome and android are so inter related. IE won't even if you are logged into your account.

Computer man just left----took him 5 minutes to recover my favorites list and another 10 minutes to solve a few other problems including some ipad problems my wife was having. I love this friend. (Then we had a few beers).

I honestly believe in this day and age a good friend who knows his/her way around solving tech problems is more valuable than almost anyone (not counting family)---- (that includes some of the quack doctors I've been to).
