Contract ratified yet?

So I retired nov 9th and I was wondering if the contract has been ratified yet so I can receive the raise we got? Anyone know the status of things?

brown,

Were you told you would receive the pension increase? And by who? Did you get it in writing?

The reason I ask is that 2 co-workers just retired and were told as of the Feb. 1st payment, the increase would be included whether the remaining local issues were resolved or not. The position being the master is set. The only condition both employees were told they must meet is having at least 1 report in 2014' to qualify. One employee had a report working his last day on Jan. 2nd and the other is killing his vacation and will return to work for one week in late Feb. and then exit for the door. As I said, both were told in writing that their first retirement check would have the increase in it. In the case of one employee/now retiree, we'll know here in a few weeks for sure.

Based on what was told by UPS and our local, if you left on Nov. 9th with no reports in 2014', you are not eligible. That is why I asked if you had anything in writing on this. Best wishes in retirement.

What happens when we roll into the next contract with this one still up in the air?

I'm getting the feeling we're going to find out.

Not that I voted yes, but operating for six months after the contract date, on the old contract, does nothing but weaken the union.

Call me selfish, but I still have a few "medical" things to address that were unexpectedly delayed due to other family health problems.
If they delay this contract and I'm able to get them taken care of under the old plan, I'm good to go - and I still get to use my own doctors.
Unfortunately, under the new health plan, I don't know what will happen because nobody knows for sure. But, everyone I spoke with tends to agree, it won't be as good as what I currently have.

Nobody knows for sure? Are you sure nobody knows for sure?
I know for sure my health insurance is getting better (prescriptions changing from 20% copay to $0 by mail and $5 retail. Also moving into BCBS which covers a much better local hospital that my current provider doesn't.)

Sounds like you are getting what I have had for years with prescriptions, however I believe as a retiree I will be changed back to what you were paying...Progress for sure but not for everyone as it stands..

No I was talking about the raise I am due from August 1st to the 9th of Nov. I believe it is 70 cents per hour for that time.

My bad. Thought you were referring to the pension increase and was wondering if you knew something we didn't. I would think you would get a check for that back pay but hey you never know either. Enjoy that retirement, you earned it!

So does damaging concessions in the contract...especially in times of tremendous company prosperity.

Been there done that and that's part of the reason why I voted no on the new contract.
I already have an excellent BC/BS plan with lower co-pays and deductibles than what are being offered in the new plan.
My main issue, though, is out-of-network providers for my specialists, specifically eye care and dental, because my current providers, currently, do not accept the new coverage.
Maybe I'm off base with my concerns or, perhaps, I missed it on the teamcare site. But, is there a part of the site that details using using and reimbursement expenses for out-of-network providers?

Money doesn't sway my vote , I don't care if it takes the whole life of this contract

But yeah whatever we get I am buying my gun and if it takes longer I will buy more accessories for my gun

I just know I am getting my gun and whatever else when we get it

You'll shoot your eye out kid.
