If Democrats wanted to go down that road, they had plenty of candidates much further left. Believe it or not, there's a lot of moderate Democrats elected in KS, MO, FL, TX, etc where that's not going to fly - this is merely a Fox/right-wing narrative. Expand healthcare? Put back in place common sense environmental regulations? Infrastructure and clean energy spending? Sure. But nobody's advocated for general government takeover of industry - this is, frankly, demagoguery to scare boomers and the uneducated. And even if they attempted such a thing, we can elect an entirely new House of Representatives and 1/3 of the senate in two years. Easy peasy.

Speaking of government takeover, I didn't hear any complaints from the right when they voted for Trump's tax cuts, which doubled the national deficit and added an unprecedented $7 trillion of debt in four years.

Not certain of the label but ok. If liberals get to keep their guns then whatever, because mine were expensive and confiscation would piss me off. I do believe that guns are most certainly confiscated from criminals and restricted from felons. I'm ok with that too. The only reason Biden will be some what “moderate” is because they don’t have the Supreme Court or the senate. Yes democrats love their power and don’t want to lose it. Medicare for the elderly? Should we get rid of all of these "socialistic" programs entirely? Even in a capitalist society, the goal is equality of opportunity, correct? You think that can be achieved, by the masses, if some have access to top quality healthcare and a huge swath of society have none?

Furthermore, if an uninsured person goes out and gets hit by a bus - who do you think pays for that? If an uninsured person doesn't get a colonoscopy because he can't afford a doctor, then gets cancer and goes to the ER, who do you think pays for that? The United States has a vested interest in a healthy society. You disagree? Fine. That's why we have elections.

There’s a big difference in funding police, fire departments and pathetic as it is our education system. You will destroy healthcare in this society and all the countries that piggy back off America. Our system does all the heavy lifting when it comes to new treatments.

You are not just talking about chipping in so we all get healthcare, like you commies like to pretend. You are talking about price controls, determining what treatments will be available, does a person have to lose an eye first before the other is considered necessary, how much doctors make, the equipment hospital can have and prices to use it. It goes even further than that with you ReRes.

It a slippery slope from we have a vested interest in a healthy society, to taxing the out of the unhealthy cheap foods to prevent people from eating them. Determining what kind of motorcycles others are allowed to own, what kind of cars they can drive.
