Disability question

So, about 6 months ago, I started feeling pain in my back and right arm. Blew it off for a week until I said, yeah, Dr time.
After multiple visits, they said chronic degenerative disc disorder.
I can't prove this was caused by 8 years of throwing irregs, but ...
UPS won't let me come back with a weight restriction.
American Disability Act classifies it as a disability as well as SSDi does.
All I want is to put in my last 5 years, hopefully, without lawyers involved.
Any (helpful) suggestions or input?

You need to apply for an ADA. Your local may be able to help guide you through it. Though just so you're aware. An ADA accommodation does not mean full time if that's what you are right now. Though it should find you a position so that you can finish out 5 years with UPS.

Even if you can't prove the job caused the restrictions??

In the Central if you weren't hurt on the job, then there's no light duty work. You're considered out until the doctor releases you back to work without restrictions.

Thank you. Been going back and forth with Supes who don't know , contacting Hartford, Business Agent and DR. tomorrow, I know I have rights, they seem not to. I'm just a man trying to earn a paycheck, doing the best I can.

Thanks guys. Spent hours on the phone today with all kinds of parties. Of course my business agent is out of town, so waiting on a call back. Frustrating, as I want to work, I'm just physically unable to do so at the level I previously did.
