And, you don't need to pay Union dues to be in the Union.

You can only be a scab if you cross a picket line. Duh
No you are not hearing us. If you are in the union and you do not pay dues. You are a scab. Good luck getting representation when your job is on the line. If I was your steward and ups fired you. I would wave bye as your being escorted out.

Do YOU get it now?

I have been working as an air driver for three months and have qualified as an air driver, made Union and have a seniority date. I am now doing cover for ground routes do I need to requalify again?
Most likely yes. Your going to have to go through probation again. Running air and running regular routes is 2 different worlds.

So how would that work? My classification hasn't changed. And am I now not in the Union? Seems like a grey area.
Am I the only one that sees he asked a question...."And am I now not in the Union?" not I am not in the union! I believe he was asking once he begins his ground progression, does he have to requalify. Here, initially, you don't join the union until you make your probation period. I'm thinking he thinks every time he has to qualify for a new classification, he leaves and then rejoins the union.

No you don't. Once you're in the union, you're in. If you're simply delivering ground as an air driver, you don't need to qualify either. It does however give you a start date for your ground wage progression. If you do become a RPCD, you will have to qualify (30 days), but you never leave the union in this process.

Not backpedaling, not being a scab! Easy guys...
