The 177 plan leveled its own playing field by putting part of its wages into the plan in order to get it fiscally sound. We were proactive and now are getting penalized for doing so, having "too much".

No teamster works to support another pension fund of that which they do not belong. Sucks to be you in a underfunded plan but we have a system with many separate funds, not just one. Nationally negotiated pension contributions should be equal for all funds

Your members made a consensus decision to "shore up" and stabilize the fund.

That was smart. Members in struggling multi-employer funds might have liked that option.
