The powers that be, corporate and political, moved much of our manufacturing offshore, especially to China. We were having a $550 billion annual trade deficit. The ones who did it got rich. Republicans and Democrats. It's the major reason that normally Democratic voting states went to Trump in 2016. Why so many of the working class are now voting Republican. Not because of Republican Congressional leadership but because of Trump populism. It's why so many converged on Washington. They finally have a leader the represents them, not the leadership of both parties that play identity politics or live off corporate lobbying. Trump had to be removed. And easy to convince diehard Democrats who only see a Republican and think the worst. It was great while it lasted.
