‘Anonymous’ Forces 40+ Child Pornography Sites Offline - Time
In its statement about the takedown, Anonymous says that the group “identified [hosting service] Freedom Hosting as the host of the largest collection of child pornography on the internet,” adding “By taking down Freedom Hosting, we are eliminating 40+ child pornography websites, among these is Lolita City, one of the largest child pornography websites to date containing more than 100GB of child pornography. We will continue to not only crash Freedom Hosting’s server, but any other server we find to contain, promote, or support child pornography.”
The group’s statement ends with the following demands:
“Remove all child pornography content from your servers. Refuse to provide hosting services to any website dealing with child pornography. This statement is not just aimed at Freedom Hosting, but everyone on the internet. It does not matter who you are, if we find you to be hosting, promoting, or supporting child pornography, you will become a target.”
Nothing Behind the Assange Charges (Stratfor Source)
Posted by Michael S. Rozeff on March 7, 2012 05:49 PM
The Stratfor e-mails are quite interesting. Here's a quote from one written by Chris Farnham (Senior Watch Officer, Stratfor):
"BTW, close family friend in Sweden who knows the girl that is pressing charges tells me that there is absolutely nothing behind it other than prosecutors that are looking to make a name for themselves. My friend speaks rather disparagingly about the girl who is claiming molestation. I also think the whole rape thing is incorrect for if I remember correctly rape was never the charge."
LRC readers already regarded the charges as groundless, no doubt. Coming from Farnham, the hearsay has some weight because he says of Assange:
"Is it possible to revoke some one's citizenship on the grounds of them being a total (Insert Richard Cranium, BC censor program)?...If I thought I could switch this (Insert Richard Cranium, BC censor program) off without getting done I don't think I'd have too much of a problem."
Hm, sounds to me like he's saying (in fantasy or imagination) he'd kill ("switch this (Insert Richard Cranium, BC censor program) off") Assange if it were not for himself being punished ("getting done"). But then I am a fan of thrillers with lots of language like this and worse.
But (and now I'm joking) isn't this e-mail indicative of a terrorist conspiracy? No, it can't be because Assange is a bad guy. Small wonder he hasn't been taken out by a few Navy Seals. I guess they'd rather torture him through the "legal" system.
