thats a pretty big assumption and a selective assumption. it would have pumped a lot of money in to and revitalized a section of new york city. The tax revenue would have been substantial. The spending in that area also substantial.
residual employment from jobs that would have generated from 25000 people spending 150 k and more in that area would have also been substantial.

you cant dismiss the economic impact of the amazon move in 10 words.

I was all for the project and was very upset when Amazon decided that it wasn't worth the hassle and moved the whole project to Virginia.

This was not to be a distribution center; as such, most, if not all, of the employees who have had to have been brought in.

There is a 1M SF DC being built just outside of Albany (NY). The tree huggers bitched about it but it is a done deal.

Any community that turns down Amazon needs to have it's collective "head" examined. Besides the jobs, there is a tremendous job multiplier effect, from food trucks to supply chain logistics.

Yeah, the jobs aren't easy at the Distribution Centers, so if you want a sit on your butt job, don't work there.

Simple.
