I'm not saying that What I am throwing out there is that it's deep seated multi generational hatred of the West might not be as fervent if we not intervened in behalf of wealthy British oil barons. Therefore before Bolton gets us in a war with Iran ( and Saudi Arabia would love nothing more) he must first separate US national interests in the region from the ongoing 1300 year war between Sunni's and Shia's .

I don't think it's a deep seated hatred of the US that motivated them but simply a power grab by despots. If anything I think our invasion of Iraq did more to create the present circumstances by destabilizing the region.

I agree. There was a bombing mission en route last night but Trump called it off. Not sure why. They are testing Trump. Hopefully he won't be like Obama and just keep drawing lines in the sand everytime someone steps over them.

What these warmongering consercuks may not realize is that Russia is still formidable militarily and a close ally of Iran. Not long after Carter left office USN& WR obtained a copy of the intelligence report which explained why he didn't invade. The report concluded that due to the logistical nightmare airborne troops will be required and that the Russians would immediately respond in support of Iran and given the difficulty in supporting lightly armed airborne troops the 82nd airborne would be wiped out in 37 days...... If consercuks want a war with Iran badly enough I'm sure Dear Leader would give them one but they had better be prepared for a bloody one along with an avalanche of terrorist attacks on civilian populations world wide.
