Matthew 25:35-46 disagrees.
Not really. Being a sheep means I would want to do it not because I have to but because it’s the right thing that the Shepherd would want me to do.

But that’s not gonna get me into heaven.

My righteousness and my works are like filthy rags.

Not to mention, Ricky is talking about some sort of political action, which has nothing to do with Christianity.

Again, you’re talking about an action that Christian would do naturally just because their heart was in the right place. Once again, it will not get you into heaven, whether you do it or not.

Thankfully, his yolk is easy. If you believe your works, will get you into heaven. That’s just fine. I hope they do.

Are you feeding and clothing people? That would be great or are you waiting for someone else to do it like the government?

Ephesians 2 8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

The writers were human and certainly they were fallible. Which is kind of the beauty of the book. The book was inspired by God and is not fallible and is not at odds. Those who think it is just haven’t studied it enough.

The Bible never sugarcoat the fact that the people writing it or being written about are exactly like we are…. Broken. And he uses broken people. And thank goodness for that.

They are a natural byproduct, but they are not what will get you into heaven or give you salvation. Salvation is a gift.
its integral and inseparable.

cone says salvation is about breaking the chains of injustice. its about god freeing us.

cornel west says salvation is about freedom from oppression for the least of these. its about transformation of oppressive systems for more justice and a spreading of power.
