It pretty much boils down to two options.

Option A is for the USA to take out Irans underground nuclear facilities using stealth aircraft and conventional, bunker- busting bombs.

Option B is to do nothing, in which case the Israelis WILL take matters into their own hands and do it themselves. Problem is...the Israelis dont have long range stealth aircraft or conventional bunker-busting bombs, so if they are dead serious about eliminating Irans nuclear capabilities, they will have no choice but to go in there with low- yield tactical nukes of their own.

Both of those options suck, but unfortunately I am not seeing a third one.

There are other options.

Option C is that the economic sanctions (which really are crippling) eventually force Iran to either abandon their pursuit of nuclear weapons or provide conclusive evidence that they really are not trying to build them.

Option D is that sanctions don't work, nobody attacks, Iran builds Nukes, and Israel and the rest of the world learn to live with it.

There's probably more possible outcomes, those are just the ones that that seem most obvious. I think it's a mistake to lock yourself into a decision path where the only outcome is war and the only variable is who fires the first shot, because once you do that it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.

Im a big fan of option D, but I doubt that it would happen. Israel regards a nuclear armed Iran as an existential threat that must be stopped by any means necessary. They arent going to sit back and do nothing.

The IAF hit the home of Ihya Abia, Hamas’s chief rocket launching unit on Sunday. Abia, a senior Hamas official was killed. He was responsible for the majority of rockets fired at Israel in the past days.

Obama was warning Israel not to "ramp up" action . He hasn't visited Israel as a president.........why should they listen to anything he says ???

This is a brillant move by Hamas.
Attacking Israel.
Causing Israel to deplete her arsonal.

Placing US in corner to resupply her arsonal.
Allowing focus to be removed from Iran and Syria.
Syria hitting Turkey...

What is the end game?

Turkey is a NATO ally. An attack on Turkey by Syria and/or Iran would, by treaty, require all NATO members to respond. Syrias air force would be destroyed on the ground in a matter of hours. Turkey itself has state of the art US-made aircraft (friend-16's and friend-15's) and military equipment and they are more than capable of kicking some ass on their own.

As far as Israels arsenal being depleted...they could easily roll into Gaza with tanks and troops in order to destroy the Hamas missiles. They could also carpet-bomb the place. The fact that they dont is due to political considerations and the desire to avoid civilian casualties...which Hamas has no concern for.

Why?
Hamas would not have a second thought about entering a school, a hospital infant ward or a playground, for the mere purpose of extinguishing innocent human life.
I described a slaughter which is celebrated by Hamas.

What happens in the brain which allows man to slaughter, the same delicate features of their own children, without remorse?

Why?

It happens when one becomes convinced of the moral certainty that they have "God" on their side. Since "God" is infallible, once you believe He is on your side then you can pretty much justify even the most horrific actions as being "His" will. This delusion is by no means exclusive to the Islamic faith; just do some research on the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisiton, the Holocaust, or the atrocities committed against Muslims by the "Christian" Serbians during WWII and the more recent civil wars in Yugoslavia. Human history throughout the ages is replete with examples of slaughter and genocide committed in the name of God. Hamas is merely a modern example of such barbarity.

Sure deface and hate the tiny country no larger New Jersey, established by the UN, then attacked
over and over again by the Arabs and Persians, either verbally, or in direct war.

Main steam media attention always reports, and puts on the Front Page the Jewish State that occupies 1/5th
of 1 Per Cent of the Arab World.... Why? Think about that, for those of you that are able.

It resolves around Issac and Ishmael and their descendents, and always will.

The world's press in the latter 20th and 21st Century are infatuated and captured by this conflict.

Another reason we should not be involved on either side to begin with.

Beyond that, there in no evidence any of these ancient people ever existed to begin with and growing evidence is suggesting they never did, thus no promise, thus no legit claim. If there was no Abraham, upon what then does a promise to the land rest?

What hypocrisy. The gaza bloodbath is occurring maybe 100 miles away from the us-backed civil war in syria yet WHERE IS THE SYMPATHY FOR THE INNOCENT GAZANS!! Why isnt anyone demanding the removal of netanyahu for killing innocent civilians!! He is a war criminal yet is coddled by american imperialists!!
