Iran was actually a very cosmopolitan and an amazing place at that time. Now it’s a hell hole.

i only made it as far as armenia. iran is not safe for north americans according to our govt tourism website (because of our govts stupid hostile policies).

there was probably no crushing sanctions back then.

our tenant didnt want to leave. she was forced to or go to jail.

usa overthrew a democratically elected govt in 1952

all 3 countries need regime change. but im pretty sure its illegal to force it on 1 country the way its being done.

It was a very good place for the rich and powerful. The masses were by and large left out of the prosperity. Made it possible for Khomeini to rise to power. A prime example of wealth centered in fewer and fewer hands until it explodes. A lesson we'd be smart to not repeat.

Pretty much everywhere. Look at Fedex. They're dismantling what used to be a very good job but soon will be strictly as low pay and no benefits as they can make it. If young people can't see a path to home ownership, families, and a secure future they will revolt. It's not for nothing that I think the government is allowing the legalization of marijuana. A zoned out populace doesn't rebel.
