Rights to what?I wonder what the legality of re opening it if it does go under. Does the owner still have the rights? Or can someone redo it?

Sounds like UPS getting rid of HR.If memory serves, it was going to take at least 20 years to ROI with the current expense levels.
But hey, she fixed that. Don’t need to pay the IT guy to keep the site functional, right?
What could go wrong?![]()
The website name.Rights to what?
I doubt you'd need to worry about promoting a new site on this one even against TOS rules. They'd need an admin to cut you off. That's not happening. One of the reasons I stopped making the replacement site was legal reasons. I didn’t want to use this site to “promote” an alternative site I have, as that’s against the ToS.
I do not believe that would apply to a site that is locking people out. It wouldn’t be self promotion. Just a salvage operation.
I don’t want her to sue me.I doubt you'd need to worry about promoting a new site on this one even against TOS rules. They'd need an admin to cut you off. That's not happening.
That's beyond a stupid amount.I believe she was asking for fifty thousand
She can't sue you all they can do is ban you and that's not happening. You obviously can't use the same name.I don’t want her to sue me.
She knows my name, and since she thinks this site is worth 50K, I could see her lawyering up.
IndeedThat's beyond a stupid amount.
The web site name browncafe.comRights to what?

and my user name would be @IVE GOTTA PACKAGE 4UYou would be the first one to sign up.
And certainYep, looks like the owner held onto it too long.
She might own the rights to the name "Brown Cafe" but wouldn't have any claim on a UPS forum.Cheryl purchased the domain for like 8 years.
I’ve done a bit of research into all this.
Even if the site goes dark, the domain can’t be reused, and all the data goes away. And belongs to Cheryl’s LLC which I assume is still being used by her daughter.
