One of the reasons I stopped making the replacement site was legal reasons. I didn’t want to use this site to “promote” an alternative site I have, as that’s against the ToS.

I do not believe that would apply to a site that is locking people out. It wouldn’t be self promotion. Just a salvage operation.

The place could be fun and interesting. But the moderation is over the top, and the AI is annoying. If you get into a long conversation with someone, it will stop sending your messages. Too much like a nanny state for me..

I’m also not a huge fan of the way threads get buried and branched off.

Agreed. But I like the AI images. There have been some funny ones there and elsewhere on the web. I prefer those to the gifs and memes we’ve seen yanked off the web ad nauseam for years. People can be creative with AI if they are willing to take the time to enter good prompts in an AI app. I loved the UPS driver action figure. Some of those people on Reddit, for some reason, are triggered by AI images. But are fine with the same ole memes and repetitive topics.

I was messing around with creating a Reddit group just to see how it works the other day. Seems like there could be a viable alternative to BC and their UPSers group if someone would set the rules right. Maybe take what’s good about this site and that group and have the right mods in place based on those rules.
