I think statements like that are more often about leftist virtue signaling and trying to feel good about oneself than about mental retardation or insanity of the speaker/writer. Most of our leftists would repeat that statement word for word on Reddit but they probably wouldn't actually believe it. They'd tell us they believe it because it comes with the leftist brand. And they can't deviate from that brand because that brand is a house of cards.

That's a major problem with the Left. They'd rather perpetuate a lie than step out of line and be cast out of their group. Might be why they despise the Right. Afraid to say the truth and resent those who point out the obvious without fear.
