Lost my Diad today

The DIAD I cost UPS $1800 per unit.

The DIAD IV cost UPS $1400 per unit.

I cannot see the DIAD V costing any more than the DIAD IV. Better tech and faster, but just like computers, price goes down as improvements get implemented and mass produced.

UPS does not just necessarily use one manufacturer. They bid the job.

Honeywell outbid Motorola for the DIAD V.
